Serving in Leadership at Saint Paul's UMC

GOVERNING BOARD is the leadership team that provides administrative oversight and makes decisions surrounding staffing, budget, and property. It consists of three subcommittees, that vote together along with at-large members. Pastors serve on Governing Board as non-voting members. Serving on Governing Board is a three-year committment.

Trustees – responsible for all physical property owned by the church, its upkeep, and how it is used.

Staff Pastor-Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) – responsible for overseeing staff, pastors, and all H.R. needs.

Finance – responsible for creating the church budget and overseeing the church finances.

At Large Members – additional members of the Governing Board that vote on all matters related to Trustees, Finance, and SPRC and help as needed with subcommittees.

Lay Leader(s) – chair of the Governing Board. Responsible for the agenda and facilitating meetings and communicating to the congregation any major decisions.

CORE MINISTRY TEAM - We are currently restructuring and reimagining our Core Ministry Team. Where the Governing Board handles the administrative side of church leadership, the Core Ministry Team handles the programming, mission, and vision side of our leadership. The future Core Ministry Team will be made up of co-coordinators in each of the 5 strategic areas that we focus on at Saint Paul’s. Each of the ministries at Saint Paul’s falls under one of these areas, and the coordinators, working together, will make up the Core Ministry Team and will serve as a point of contact within leadership. Core Ministry Team members may serve for more than 3 years, but renew their commitment each year to serve the following year.

Worship Coordinators – meet with and coordinate with the leaders of each of the Worship Ministry areas and assist with planning and implementing seasonal and special worship services throughout the year.

Grow Coordinators – Provide oversight and coordination of Sunday School classes, midweek learning opportunities, and special retreats and opportunities throughout the year.

Serve Coordinators – Provide oversight and coordination of missions, midweek volunteers, and congregational care teams. Will work with members on connecting skills and passions with opportunities and needs.

Share Coordinators – Provide oversight and coordination of church communications and outreach.

Give Coordinators – Provide oversight and coordination of stewardship, serve on budget planning with the finance team, and work on overall fundraising strategies.

Only Professing Members of the church may serve on Governing Board or Core Ministry Team.
